Statement of Faith

Verbal Inspiration: We believe the Holy Scriptures as contained in the Old and New Testament to be the verbally inspired Word and Revelation of God, inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed. That they contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Revelation 22:19-20).

Deity and Virgin Birth: We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, His Virgin Birth, that He is the incarnate Son of God, the second Person in the blessed Trinity, very God of very God, for whom, and by whom all things were created (John 1:1-14, 14:9; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; John 10:36).

Original Sin or Depravity: We believe that original sin, or depravity, is that corruption of the nature of all the offspring of Adam by reason of which everyone is very far gone from original righteousness or the pure state of our first parents at the time of their creation; that because of their fallen nature, man is adverse to God, is without spiritual life, and inclined to evil and that continually (Genesis 1:26-27 and 2:7; Psalms 51:5; Romans 3:23). Man is not an evolved being, but a fallen creation, and can only be recreated in righteousness in Jesus Christ (II Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:4-5; John 1:12-13).

The Holy Spirit and the Church: We believe in the personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Triune Godhead, that He is ever present and efficiently active in and with the Church of Jesus Christ, convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, regenerating the hearts of repentant believers, purifying, or sanctifying the hearts of fully consecrated believers, and guiding them into all truth (Mark 1:14-15; John 3:3-8, 16:7-11,13,14, and 17:17,19; Acts 15:8-9; I Thessalonians 5:23-24). We believe that the Church of God is composed of all spiritually regenerate persons whose names are written in heaven, and that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and that the born-again believers compose the Body of Christ (I Corinthians 12:12-13, 1: 1-2; Philippians 4:3; Revelation 20:12; Colossians 1:18).

The Trinity: We believe in the Triune God, manifest in three person: God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (I John 5:1-8; Deuteronomy 4:35, 39; Mark 12:29-32; Genesis 1:26-27; Titus 1:3-4; Acts 5:3-4; John 28:19, 6:27, 20:27-29; Hebrews 9:14; II Corinthians 3:17-18).

Blood Atonement: We believe that Jesus Christ, by His suffering, by the shedding of His own blood, and by His victorious death on the Cross, made a full atonement for all sin, and that this atonement is the only ground for our salvation, and that it is sufficient for every individual of Adam’s race (I John 1:7). We believe that all must be born again or be forever lost (Hebrews 2:9; John 6: 44-69; l John 3:1-18; Romans 3:25: Revelation 1:5; Hebrews 9:22; I Peter 1:18-19).

Resurrection: We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ that ascended bodily into heaven and is now at the right hand of God as our Mediator, Priest, and Advocate (Acts 1:9-11, 3:12-26; John 20; Hebrews 9; 25; I Corinthians 15:21-28; Hebrews 7:25).

Justification by Faith: We believe that man is justified on the single ground of living faith in the shed blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1, 3:28, 4:1-5; Galatians 2:16, 3: 8,11,24, 25; Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:17; Hebrews 10:38).

The Second Coming of Christ: We believe in Christ’s personal return to this earth (Acts 1:9-11; John 14:3; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Luke 12:40: Titus 3:13; Revelation 22:20).

The New Birth: We believe in the new birth by the Spirit of God whereby we are made the children and heirs of God (John 3:3-16; Romans 8:16-17; John 14:6; Acts 4:12, 16:31).

Separation from the World: We believe that all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ are called into the life of separation from the worldly and sinful practices (James 4:4; Romans 12:2; I John 2:15-17; II Corinthians 6:14-17).

Evangelism: We believe that the true Church of Christ must be evangelical, missionary, and evangelistic. Therefore, we believe in the great commission of Christ to His disciples to bring all men into fellowship with Christ and to baptize all believers in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:16; II Timothy 4:5; Acts 20:20; II Corinthians 5:14-20).

Personality of Satan: We believe in the personality and reality of Satan, “that old Serpent called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world” (Revelation 12:9-10; Matthew 4:2-11; Isaiah 14:12-17; John 8:24; II Corinthians 11:14).

Heaven and Hell: We believe that Heaven is a place of eternal blessedness, and that Hell is a place of eternal suffering (II Corinthians 5:1-10; Revelation 20:1-15, 21-22; Mark 9:43-44).

Good Works: We believe that all followers of the Lord Jesus Christ should maintain good works (Ephesians 4:1, 2:10; Titus 2:11-14, 3: 1-11).

Ordinances: We believe that there are two ordinances given to the Church: baptism and communion (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:5; Romans 6:1-4; I Corinthians 11:23-32).
